Head Coach/President Mike Anderson  (Gold Group)

Mike swam with the Flyers for seven years as a young boy and he was a Flyers coach 2001-2013.  Mike was actually one of the earliest Flyers to qualify for the national Eastern zone championships as well as the Empire State Games.  He was a 2001 QHS graduate and swam four years on their varsity team where he was a member of two record setting relay teams, two Sectional championship teams and was a Section ll 50-freestyle winner that sent him to compete in the NY State high school Championship meet.  After high school Mike, as a freshman at SUNY Plattsburgh, competed in the SUNYAC championships finishing 3rd in the 50-freestyle and 5th in the 100-freestyle.  Presently, Mike is in his tenth year as the head coach for Queensbury High School's varsity girls swim team.  During his tenure at Qby his teams have earned several Foothills Council Championships as well as winning three Section 2 titles (2 girls/1 boys) with a number of individual Sectional champions.  Mike earned his degree in secondary education and has been a social studies teacher at QHS.  He and his wife Sarah have two children and live in Glens Falls.   Mike is very excited to be back with the Flyers program and to have the opportunity to continue to build on our local swimming community through the development, experience and guidance that the Flyers has always been known for.

Mady Cox  (White group)

Mady started her swimming career with the Flyers when she was six years old.  But, as a toddler she was afraid of the water and it took many private swim lessons to gain confidence, enough to tryout for the Flyers.  At Queensbury Middle and High School, Mady swam on the school's modified and varsity teams.  As a senior she was the team's captain and received the team's Coach's Award.  Mady began coaching with the Flyers staff mainly as an assistant with the White group since 2019.  Mady is starting her second year at Adirondack Community College where she is studying mechatronics.  She currently works at Praxis Technology as a production operator.  During her free time she likes to downhill ski, play with her three dogs and plan trips to Disney with her best friend.  Mady knows that the Flyers program helped introduce the sport of competitive swimming to her and she uses her experiences to help her swimmers realize their own potential and love for swimming by creating a fun and productive learning environment in the White group.

Emma Canale  (White Group Assistant)

Emma is a senior at Glens Falls HS.  She has competed on the girls varsity team since she was a freshman.  She began swimming with the Flyers in 6th grade and is still competing with us.  Emma has been a lifegaurd and swim instructor with the town of Queensbury at Gurney Lane pool.  Emma is also enrolled in the International Baccalaureate Diploma program at Queensbury HS.  In her free time she likes to walk her dog, play the violin and listen to Taylor Swift.  Emma says not only has the Flyers instilled in her a passion for the sport of swimming but it has also developed her strokes and she was able to make many special friendships along the way.
Emma's friendly personality and successful swim career up to this point are attributes that our youngest Flyers will certainly benefit from.

Kate Gallant (Blue group)

Kate swam with the Flyers for four years as a young girl and qualified for the national Eastern Zones Championships.  She then went on to swim for the YMCA Gators where she was a seven time YMCA State Champion and four time YMCA National qualifier. After graduating with her Bachelors degree and while working towards her MBA, Kate came back home and coached on the Flyers from 2013 to 2019.  She took a break from the swimming world to focus on being a mother to her daughter Olivia and progressing in her career in Human Resources but she always knew that if/when her daughter became interested in swimming, she would come back to the Flyers. That time has come, and she could not be more excited to be back coaching on the team where her passion for swimming started!   Kate lives in Queensbury with her daughter and fiancé, Derrick and their two dogs.

Ethan Langford  (Red Group)

This is Ethan's third year coaching with the Flyers.  Ethan is a Queensbury High School graduate and second year student at Adirondack Community College.  He is majoring in physical education and hopes to, one day, be a head coach.  Ethan learned to swim at age four, through the Queensbury town recreation lessons at Gurney Lane pool.  He swam competitively with the Flyers and four years on the Queensbury High School varsity swim team where he was the team captain as a senior while also being given the Coaches Award.  Ethan also competed on the QHS track and field team and was the team's captain in his senior year.  During the summer, Ethan has been a lifeguard at the Gurney Lane pool and the pool manager.  During the fall/winter months Ethan also lifeguard's at the Great Escape lodge.  In his free time he likes to workout and walk his dog.  Ethan has really enjoyed coaching the Blue group swimmers and strives to help all of his swimmers to improve and achieve their goals for the season.
